Greenmarket Green Light: Organic Honey

If you haven’t stopped by Paul & Barb Ballard’s tent at the Morningside Greenmarket, you’re missing out on a sweet experience. Specializing in honey, there are three different types to choose from: Clover, wildflower, and buckwheat. Clover is the mildest of them all – the one usually found in supermarkets, but without all that artificial gunk – and each succeeding type has a stronger honey flavor and darker color. There’s also honey cream, which is simply air whipped clover honey akin to a smooth peanut butter texture. It’s only sold in glass bottles and the smallest one (16 oz.) is $5. Morningside Greenmarket takes place on Thursdays and Sundays right outside Lerner Hall on Broadway, so hurry and grab some organic honey this week!
