Another Reason Film Studies Rocks…

Annette Insdorf, self-proclaimed most awesome film professor on campus, has won an award from GS. The Student Council of the Columbia School of General Studies has given Insdorf an Excellence of Teaching Award. There will be an event next Thursday (the 12th) at the GS Lounge in Lewisohn Hall to honor the professor. Beat that, all other departments!

The Press Release

“With great pleasure, the Student Council of the Columbia School of General Studies announces the GS 2008 Award for Excellence in Teaching.  This annual award is designed to recognize teaching excellence — and in particular, to honor faculty who have had a truly lasting influence on the intellectual development of our non-traditional undergraduate students.

This year GS students nominated Professor Annette Insdorf, citing her “vibrant teaching, renowned scholarship, leadership on campus, and constant efforts on behalf of individual students” as some of the reasons she should receive the Excellence in Teaching Award.”
